This is me on the Inca Trail last year, having just climbed Warmiwañuska at 4215m altitude and in rather wet conditions…it was a very tough climb but the satisfaction of completing it was a huge reward. I am likening this experience (in the metaphysical sense of course) to my long-awaited departure from the world of in-house translation to become an all-singing, all-dancing freelance linguist. After a lot of toil and struggle, I made it!
To my surprise, after completing my TESOL course last December and handing in my notice, the final weeks in my office went by terrifyingly quickly and I now find myself in my comfortable and peaceful home office, but with a rather long list of tasks for the week. After a disgracefully long Christmas and New Year blogging vacation, during which time I passed my TrinityCert *and* sat a very tough admissions exam for full membership of the ITI (just to prove I haven’t been lazing around), I have now returned to the fold with a renewed and re-invigorated enthusiasm for blogging, so expect to see more frequent posts here from now on.
