Translation, Linguistics and Freelancing in the 21st Century
Last Saturday I attended the CIOL Centenary Members’ Day in London. This was my first CIOL Members’ Day, despite having been a member for about 7 years. There were lots of great speakers, but the two talks that attracted me most were Professor David Crystal HonFCIL on ‘Languages: Past, Present and Future’ and Michael Benis
I’m delighted to report (somewhat belatedly) that earlier this year successfully passed the ITI membership exam and can now call myself a Qualified Member (MITI) of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (I’m already a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists). Woop woop (does air punches at her desk)!
